TODAY'S ENTREPRENEURS - THE BENEFITS OF EO SERVE THEM WELL
Both Personally and Professionally
The Entrepreneur's Organization (EO), formerly known as the Young Entrepreneur's Organization, was founded in 1987 with the purpose of helping young business owners achieve a greater level of business success and personal fulfillment. During my tenure as president of EO, I have had the incredible satisfaction of personally observing extraordinary transformations in the business and personal lives of many of our members.
The core values and mission of EO reflect the ever-evolving roles and driving factors behind today's entrepreneurs worldwide. On the eve of our 20th anniversary, our organization now boasts more than 6,400 members in more than 120 chapters in 41 countries around the globe.
The Cincinnati Chapter of EO had 59 members as of January 2008. Currently, members are between 33 and 52 years old, with an average age of 41 years. Annual sales by chapter members vary between $1 million and $90 million. Together, our member's companies have more than 1,123 employees.

A message from our Chapter President.
I've now visited with most every member in the chapter and can tell you that we have some amazing entrepreneurs in our Cincinnati chapter and I feel very lucky to have been asked to be a part of this organization over five years ago. Here's why. At the 2008 EO Global Leadership conference in San Francisco this May, EO Cincinnati was honored with the Rockstar Chapter award for excellence. Only 19 of the 208 chapters globally received this award and it is a tribute to the many dedicated, passionate entrepreneurial leaders within the Cincinnati EO chapter. This chapter is Rockin' to say the least. Each year we evaluate a limited number of qualified candidates to grow our membership with the right types of entrepreneurs. From my experience there is not another organization in the world like it. It is not a networking organization, it is much more than that. EO is about sharing experiences only fellow entrepreneurs could understand whether it be business-related, work/life balance or personal. I've come to realize that only someone like me, another entrepreneur sweating payroll and the next deal or situation, could understand my situation (both personal and business) and has likely gone through something similar to share the experience and help me through. EO Cincinnati has helped me grow personally and professionally. For me, the next level was to become well-rounded and outgrow that “helpless entrepreneur” who is always working and missing the big picture without sacrificing my financial success. Whatever your business situation is (and believe me we have all been there in the ups and downs), create your own success, rely on the support of your entrepreneurial peers and make it a great year!
Best Regards,
Gus Valen, EO Cincinnati President, FY09
